                                     Gurukul
The Gurukul is a non-profit educational organization based in Uttar Pradesh, India.
Mission of the Gurukul
The Gurukul committee was established in 1988, Chotipura, Jyotibaphule Nagar (UP). Since then this committee has been running a Girls education institute under the name of "Shrimad Dayanand Kanya Gurukul Mahavidyalay Chotipura, Jyotibaphule Nagar, U. P. (India)". They are involved in fulfilling the aims of Arya Samaj and Swami Dayanand Saraswati.
In 1875 when Swami Dayanand founded the Arya Samaj he envisioned that education is the key in countering social oppression and community's ills. To make his dream come true Swami Shradhananda founded Gurukul Kangri, Haridwar and Kanya Gurukul, Dehradoon. He revived the Gurukul system, in which the student stays with the Guru at his Ashram. While at the gurukul he gets education and learns to live a Sattwic/simple life. Life style at the gurukul is based on the principle of "simple living and high thinking".
Its aim is to create a moral human being, a worthy citizen for the society, a patriot for the nation and a responsible family member.
At the present time the committee is running Girls Education Center and about 350 girls are enrolled from different states: U. P., Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, M. P., Bihar, Orissa, Karnatka, Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, Kerala, Uttranchal, Delhi etc. Girls from different cast, creed and communities live and study together and create a harmonious atmosphere for all.
This is a non profit organization. The Gurukul does not charge any fee for boarding and lodging from students/parents. The gurukul spends about $50 on each girl every month. The gurukul is continuing its efforts with the support of the community. We invite your support and your donation to The gurukul which is tax deductible.
